Oct 28th - Nov 3rd

One month left in this wonderful mission. We have seen many things happen, not by our action but by the Spirit that directs us. We have grown more in the last 21 months than we could have comprehended. The blessings have come to us and to our family and extended families.

This week we had some final dinners with our senior friends and have felt their love. 

We were able to attend a special fireside for temple workers. This fireside was a great spiritual meeting. It was the last time we will probably see some of the wonderful men and women who we have served with in the temple. The outgoing Presidency are spiritual giants. They have been patient with us in learning the Temple ordinances and procedures. We will always remember sitting at their feet learning and listening.. great teaching moments.  Thank you so much President and Sister Deshler, President and Sister Crowther, President and Sister Fredericks!!! Elder Gifford Nielsen was our guest speaker and we loved his message and the Spirit of the meeting it was a great training on revelation.

This week was Halloween and we had a great dinner at the Trail Center with the Missionaries and then played games with the Holts and Binghams.

We were able to take our Karen friends to the Temple so they could do baptisms for the dead. We hope that someday they will be able to receive the full blessings of the temple.
We will also miss some of the beautiful sunsets here in Omaha.

As we prepare to go home we will take with us great memories of the time we have spent here in the Nebraska Omaha Mission and the Mormon Trail Center at the Historic Winter Quarters.

Christmastime at Winter Quarters is exciting.  This has been a busy week with Zone Conference, Gingerbread, and many Sister Missionaries leaving the Trail Center for home, but a thought about Christmas shared at our Trail Center Training on Saturday morning we thought you would enjoy. April 16th -22nd

Heber C Kimball, Brigham Young, Willard Richards, This week was spent working mostly at the Kainesville Tabernacle. The Tabernacle is the location in church History where on December 27, 1847.  Brigham Young was sustained by the members of the Church as President of the Church. with Heber C Kimball and Willard Richards sustained as his counselors.  It is one of those places not often visited by people on the Church History tours. Located in Council Bluffs, Iowa it is a peaceful and sacred place. In the Tabernacle is where Oliver Cowdery came back to the Church and was baptized in a creek in the area.  In our family history Mary Ann Huntsman was married to Thomas Green by Orson Hyde in the tabernacle on January 31 1849. March 5th - 11th

Windows Celestial Room facing Cemetery Another busy week here at Winter Quarters and some new things to experience. Tours are picking up with more people visiting both the Trail Center and the Tabernacle. Had tours in both places this week.  We had a great experience Tuesday night. We were invited to the Mission President's home to have dinner with the 11 new missionaries (8 Elders and 3 Sisters). They arrived Monday night and on Tuesday they had dinner and a Testimony Meeting, then they got their first assignment and who they will be training with.  We were invited because we just missed the last new missionary dinner. It was a very spiritual experience. Wednesday we were able to serve in the Temple when the departing Missionaries got to go before they went home the next day.
