Windows Celestial Room facing Cemetery
Another busy week here at Winter Quarters and some new things to experience. Tours are picking up with more people visiting both the Trail Center and the Tabernacle. Had tours in both places this week.
We had a great experience Tuesday night. We were invited to the Mission President's home to have dinner with the 11 new missionaries (8 Elders and 3 Sisters). They arrived Monday night and on Tuesday they had dinner and a Testimony Meeting, then they got their first assignment and who they will be training with.  We were invited because we just missed the last new missionary dinner. It was a very spiritual experience. Wednesday we were able to serve in the Temple when the departing Missionaries got to go before they went home the next day. Two great experiences.
Also learned this week that the Pioneer Cemetery is the only Cemetery dedicated as part of the Temple Grounds. President Hinckley included it in the dedication of the Winter Quarters Temple in 2001

 Papillion Stake Genealogy Open House
Saturday March 10th was a busy day. Training at 7:30am then we were asked to go Papillion Stake to a Genealogy open house. We did ok until an easel fell and broke a picture glass, that was not the worst, Elder Russell's favorite picture was also broke. The whole ride back to the Trail Center we were trying to figure out how we could fix it. I decided we could pack the car and go home, Sister Russell said it was ok. We left the stuff and went to work at the Tabernacle where we were able to do 3 tours! One was fascinating, a lady doing research on a book. She was a non member and we talked about the pioneers and the Mormon Battalion.

We ended the week on a pretty easy day except we lost an hour sleep. Serving here is such a great experience. We love the work, the Sister Missionaries, Senior Couples and the Temple. As we work with the Sisters they seem so prepared for this work we can just imagine our grandchildren serving the Lord also.
