March 19th - 25th

This week we started out kind of in a down note. As we left you last week our car was not working well, a check engine came on Sunday on the way to church. We got home ok, but worried all night and had to call to have someone take our shift Monday morning. Our appointment at the Volkswagen dealer was at 9:00 and we were to be working at 10:00. Our directors took the start of the shift. After a couple of hours our car was as good as new, and we were on the road. (We feel so blessed that they could replace the spark plugs and ignition coil and we were good to go). We arrived 2 hours into our shift and worked the rest of the day. Monday night was our Senior Dinner for March. The presentation was on Friberg's Book of Mormon pictures. Very interesting ideas on the pictures, and we really enjoyed it.

We are getting busy on tours at both the Trail Center and Tabernacle. We had a lady at the Tabernacle on tour and Sister White got her first referral. A referral means she asked the question if the lady wanted to hear more and could we contact her later.

Sunday Elder White gave a tour to a group of Japanese tourists, members of the Church but there was a communication problem.  One could understand English and translated for the others so they could try to understand what he was saying.

Friday we had our first P-Day. We did some spring cleaning, shopping and took a tour of the Dodge home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was the Chief Engineer of the Union Pacific Railroad. General Dodge was a Civil War Hero, friend of many Presidents, and built the Transcontinental Railroad. It is a nice home, but very elaborately furnished. Council Bluffs was the starting point of the Union Pacific Railroad.

Lunch was at a Mexican restaurant in Council Bluffs. We  loved the food but the place looked run down. An interesting day and we enjoyed being together.

We enjoy Saturday morning Missionary Trainings and Sunday we had our last day in the Old Mill Ward.  Bryan's right transfers are stressful, as we contemplate what our new ward will be like.
