Winter Quarters is hot, Saturday and Sunday the Temperature was over 101 degrees, both records, Humidity 70 %. Not use to it yet. We have to dress in suit coats all day when giving tours and are outside a lot at the Kanesville Tabernacle. Our monthly Senior Dinner was the first of the week. Had an enjoyable time with the senior missionaries, we have grown close to them just like on our Inner-city Mission.   Getting together and enjoying an evening once a month is fun. A young man with his family coming through the Mormon Trail Center came up to me and ask if we had oil at the center, he had to give his daughter a blessing because she had smashed her finger in the door.  It is a privilege to have the authority to bless people who need it. Elder White gave a tour to a couple from Germany. They spoke very little English but the Spirit was strong. He asked if he could have missionaries visit in a couple of weeks. They said Yes, and the wife said, “O...

Zone Conference May May is half over and it seems to go by faster each week. We have completed 4 months of our mission. We love this work and the things we are Digging tulips learning here in Omaha. Digging tulips Digging tulips We got to do some physical labor this week. On Tuesday we helped the FM Missionaries dig up the tulip bulbs. The physical labor was great, but our bodies did tell us about it the rest of the week. Our FM Missionaries are great and provide a lot of service. Digging tulips Ephraim's Rescue ( Richard Benedict) This week while serving we had occasion to have Ephraim Hanks, well the actor who played him in Ephraim's Rescue ( Richard Benedict) come to the a Tabernacle. It was fun talking to him and his wife and to share the lessons with them. Sister White even got her picture with him. He played the Older Ephraim in the movie. Zone Conference Zone conference is always a highlight. We are so grateful fo...

Big Boy 4023 Steam Locomotive This has been a very busy week. We have been really busy at both the Trail Center and the Tabernacle. A lot of people are out here for graduation and children going to do intern work for their school work. Bird of Paradise This has been a rough week at home. We are sure proud of our children as they have all worked with each other, giving hugs and great to support in time of need. We are also proud that they have the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and that Families will be together forever. They keep saying to us, you are in the right place, and doing the will of the Lord. So proud of all. We acted like tourists on our Preparation day. With some new friends we visited the Lauritzen Gardens, botanical gardens and arboretum, located here in Omaha. We had a good time and have included pictures. Colus Star Flower Lauritzen Gardens,  With the Calls Also visited Kenflick Park home of  two ...

This week we worked most of the time at the Tabernacle in Kainesville in Council Bluffs Iowa. This site is important to the members of the church because   1. Brigham Young was sustained as a President of the Church on December 27, 1847.     2.  November 1848 Oliver Cowdery returned to the church and was rebaptized. In Church History this part of history is usually covered in one Sunday in Sunday School and in Seminary a Couple of Days. Many people passed through this week, and we were able to explain the Gospel. We had some heavy rain and tornado warnings. Rain storms are different than Utah. Leaving the Tabernacle on Tuesday windshield wipers would not take the rain off the windshield fast enough. At the Tabernacle the tulips are in full bloom, and so beautiful, we will share more pictures. A young man walking by the Tabernacle felt the spirit, didn't know why, but he wanted to come in and learn more. We were able to take...
