An exciting week we had this past week. Weather has turned to spring and we are excited to get our garden planted on the patio.  We bought a tomato plant, a cucumber plant, and have a Sweet Potato that we are going to grow.  Sister White wants a strawberry so we got one of them also.  It is warm enough that we planted the plants, but have to move them in some nights because of cold temperatures. This week we had our Senior Dinner, which we have once a month. Sister White and Sister Holt were in charge and we had a good time with all the Senior couples in the Trail Center and Invited Guests. It is kind of strange to not have some of the couples attend, since we have had a split with the Mission Couples and Trail Center Couples.  It was fun having all together.  Orange Chicken, Funeral Potatoes, Cooked Carrots, and Fruit.  For dessert we had Ice Cream Sundaes. Easter weekend was really nice, We have a meeting every Saturday Morning, this past w...

We are working hard this week, met a lot of missionaries going to Nauvoo and Palmyra to serve either in the temple or at the historic sites. Lots of Senior Couples on the move. A couple going to Nauvoo had come through who were on their second mission there, once as a temple mission and this time a 6 month Historic Site Missionary. Our President is delivering duties to all the Seniors they are excited to have some responsibility. More and more Senior Couples are taking over assignments. This week we were responsible for a dinner here at the Trail Center for the Karen Group. Since we had to do the dinner with some of the Senior Couples that serve in the Ward we had a pretty full day. Went to Training on Saturday Morning at 7:30 am, worked a 4 hour shift, cooked the Orange chicken and had to pick up members and take them home, by the time we got home we were tired. About 34 people attended though and we had a fun time with dinner, video and tour!! Researching ancestor...

We were excited to have family visit us at Winter Quarters this week. We had our Daughter and her 5 children with us from Sunday-Friday morning. It was interesting to see how they have grown and how they have developed spiritually. We did the usual things of going to the Zoo and walk the pedestrian bridge, but they best part was participating in the Temple with our grandchildren doing baptisms for our ancestors.  Paulynn going to the Temple with her Mother, granddaughters doing more baptisms and Grandpa spending time with the younger children watching movies and just being together. It was fun but it is hard to see them go. We really enjoyed Conference this week. All the talks and singing was wonderful. A couple of thoughts that stood out to us were: Blessings Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf–Blessing As an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I bless you with the confidence to be a living testimonial of gospel values, with the courage to always be recognized as a member of...

Continued to work hard at Winter Quarters, the weather has become spring in one week, there are still  people who are effected by flooding, but tours are picking up and the feel of newness is in the air. Omaha area is growing with many new members of the church moving in, this week a new Stake was created in the Omaha area and many ward boundaries were changed. There are now 8 stakes in the Nebraska Omaha Mission. The church is moving ahead.  It is a time of change. "Looking forward to General Conference", we had a member of the Mission Presidency state at a Zone Conference.  It is just like having Christmas every 6 months. Looking forward to how the church is changing. There are many rumors that float around the mission, but all we need to know is that the Church is true and to Follow the Prophet. One of my favorite pictures in the Trail Center Gallery Shall We Not Go On In So Great A Cause In the painting we see the pioneer struggling to move to a greater c...
