Working hard this week at the Mormon Trail Center and Tabernacle. More visitors and more assignments that need to be done.  We are working on getting the Trail Center more children friendly.  They are putting in children's room where young children can do things like make rag dolls and interactive activities. They are doing a "I Spy" hunt in the Trail Center with a reward when the child turns it back in                    A special project that Elder White has been working on is an easier way to find your ancestors at Winter Quarters.  He has added all the people who are in the graves at Winter Quarters Cemetery and Cutler Park Cemetery.  They have been added to a program called Relative Finder , a person can link with a Community group LDS-Pioneer Cemetery at Winter Quarters    and you can find who you are related of people who will be coming though the Mormon Trail Center.   A couple of t...

March 11th-17th Exciting week in Nebraska and Iowa. First of all the Missionaries are safe, a few apartments with water from recent and rapid snow melt, but everybody is ok.  All are working hard whether teaching or stacking water bottles at the Salvation Army, they are busy serving the Lord and giving service to those in need. What happened to cause so much water, well let me try to explain. Snow was on the ground much of February and the first part of last week. Maybe 12” in some places. There was ice all around. Elder White even slipped 3 times in the Pioneer Cemetery the first of last week , that's another story for another day. On Tuesday it started to rain, and rain continued into Wednesday, by Wednesday night most of the snow had melted, and water ran in the streets and into the rivers. The Platte River had 15“ of ice on top, with the rain and melting, the river road and ice broke up, then came the ice jams causing small dams.  When they break it ca...

Another slow week at the Mormon Trail Center and Kanesville Tabernacle. It is still a great place to serve and to work with people in the area.  Spring is coming we know, not here yet.  It was a week with people coming through on spring break and Missionaries traveling to new assignments. Thursday was Zone Conference and again it was one of the snow days. It is great to see the Elders and Sisters and to have instruction from our leaders.  We are working with the Trail Center President and we may not get to attend many more sessions. Zone Conference is for the young Elders and Sisters and it is great, but with less Sisters at the Trail Center we may just have to stay and work shifts. We love serving in the Temple. The Winter Quarters Temple is so beautiful and so special. We get to serve there once a week as Ordinance Workers and on other occasions we are able to take people to the Temple for Baptisms for the Dead.  This was one of those weeks.  Working on ...

Exciting week here in Omaha, we had some snow, which made it the snowiest February on record and there is still about 15" on the ground.  We are still learning the new things at the a Trail Center.  We are getting some new positions of pictures and new upgraded furniture.  It always amazes me on how the Church of Jesus Christ is constantly changing. This was a birthday week for Elder White and we had a group get together with the senior missionaries. We serve with great people and with the great Sister Missionaries.  We love to serve. We wish we had more visitors to the Trail Center and Tabernacle, but we know that Spring is around the corner and that the visitors will be coming soon. We are really tired of winter! Because of the salt on the roads we need to wash the car every week. We are worried about the tires on the car because of the all the chuck holes, it looks like a mine field. Benjamin and Olive Barber Benjamin Barber one of my Great Great Gr...
