This week has gone by really fast. it only seems as last week we were in the MTC, and now we have been out 7 months.  A lot of the missionaries we have served with have gone home, and now at the Trail Center and Tabernacle we are the longest serving couple except the Directors. The most unusual tour we gave happened a few weeks ago, it was a tour given to some teachers from the Iowa School for the Deaf.  Only one of them had a little hearing, all they could do was read the displays in the visitor center and at the Tabernacle. It would have been nice if we could sign, but we found out one of them did know about the church and was from Idaho. Sunday night we had a tour given by the sisters to some of the members of the Temple Riders Motorcycle Association. These men were on a trip cross country.  They were members of a group that ride as a club to different Temples. They posed with the Sisters for a picture. Weeks are flying by and the work keeps progressing. This was a week of  visits, on Monday Elder and Sister Cooper stopped by long enough for two tours and dinner.. It was exciting to see new missionaries eager to serve the Lord and anxious to go on a new adventure. Then on  Thursday night and Friday Sister White’s roommate from BYU, Marilyn and her husband Preston stopped by for tours and dinner. They stayed overnight and had a good talk with them. Heavy rain on Sunday made for a slow drive to the Tabernacle when you couldn’t even see he road.  The windshield wipers would not take the water off of the windshield even In highest speed. In two days there was 81/2 inches of rain. The farmers out here really needed that for their crops. I wish Utah could get that kind of rain. In our Karen Group we are working in the next couple of months on having one of our couples go to the temple for their own work. We are keeping our fingers crossed and praying. EDW...

This week things have slowed down a little. We are approaching our 7th month in the mission and time is flying by.  Interesting how the summer traffic when school is starting slacks off. This week was mostly those who worked at the Nauvoo Pageant and people going to graduate  medical and dental school. We had a wonderful Zone Conference the first of the week talking about Faith and conversion. Saturday we had a wonderful Baptism of a young Karen girl. This 10 year old sister has been faithful all the time we have worked with the group. She gives scriptures in Sacrament Meeting and bears her testimony all the time . Finally permission was given by her parents to be baptized.  A very spiritual meeting; singing songs in Karen and some traditional food. She was confirmed on Sunday Morning in the Group. :) We are so grateful to serve this mission on such hallowed ground. To be where as President Hinckley said  in dedication of ...

July 30th - August 5th Sister White in Cornfield Elder White in Cornfield DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge We now have two new couples working with us at the Trail Center and Tabernacle. Elder and Sister Dawson from Clinton, Utah and Elder and Sister White from North Salt Lake. It is good to have a full contingent of workers. We look forward to serving with these couples. Still a lot of visitors coming through. It seems to have slowed a little this week with the Nauvoo Pageant winding down. Still a lot of families on Church History tours. We visited a new place this week with Elder and Sister Call. Went to the Desoto National Wildlife Refuge. It was really interesting. Sister White has never been able to sit in the Eagles Nest during her sons’ Eagle Court of Honors but she got in one on Saturday with Sister Call. We have visited many sites around Omaha and Council Sister Call and White as Eagles Bluffs with the Calls, but on Monday August...
